The role of the Student Support Officer at Brisbane Bayside State College is one we truly value and love.

Here’s how I see my role in supporting our students:

• ​Supporting, encouraging, and building strong relationships between students, teachers, and the wider community
• Recognising and developing each student’s strengths to enhance their social and educational wellbeing
• Advocating for and empowering students to reach their full potential
• Providing socio-emotional support tailored to the individual needs of each student
• Identifying risk factors that may affect students’ progress and connecting them with the many support networks available at BBSC
• Valuing every student by creating a safe and welcoming space where they can share concerns and have open conversations
• Encouraging active participation in school life through alternative activities such as garden club and sports
• Respectfully embracing and working with cultural diversity and differences
