Sun Safety Policy

Our SunSmart Policy has been developed to promote a healthy balance of UV exposure for both students and staff. It aims to:

• Minimise the risk of skin cancer through appropriate sun protection measures.

• Ensure students and staff receive adequate sun exposure for essential vitamin D.

The policy applies to all members of the school community including teachers, staff, students, and volunteers.

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is the student behaviour framework at BBSC. It is centred on:

• The explicit teaching of expected behaviours

• Clear and consistent policies and procedures

• A culture of positive reinforcement and rewards

Students are recognised for demonstrating positive behaviours in areas such as:

• Behaviour

• Attendance

• Uniform compliance

• Being prepared for learning

These efforts earn students points, which can be redeemed for a range of exciting rewards at the Shop, including:

• BBSC uniform vouchers

• Wirawira vouchers

• "Skip the canteen line" tickets

• Discounted camp vouchers

• Canteen vouchers

• Stationery items

• Entry into prize draws for formal tickets or senior jerseys

This system promotes a supportive, achievement-focused environment where positive actions are consistently acknowledged and celebrated.
