"Sport is an essential element of education." – George Sheehan
At Brisbane Bayside State College, our sports program embodies the motto Fortius Quo Fidelius — strength through loyalty. We strive to instill this value in our students, encouraging all abilities to participate and compete with integrity.
For us, sporting prowess isn’t just about winning; it’s about participation, sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development. We believe that giving your best effort and playing fairly are far more important than victory at any cost.
That said, preparation, training, and a commitment to learning and improvement are key to sporting success. At BBSC, success is seen as a journey, measured by a student’s willingness to learn, their effort, and good old-fashioned hard work.
- Thursday Period 4 (Year 7, 8 & 9)
BBSC offers a number of competitive sport options for summer and winter seasons. Students who enrol in these sports must trial for the sports, and only those students who are successful in the trials will participate. Students train in the allocated sport time for their respective gala days.
